Tomorrow

gingerbread, meringue, neon

A large graffiti covers a wall, spelling the word “tomorrow”. At the right side of the graffiti, placed closely upon the adjacent wall, a small white neon sign reads, “or the day before”. Unexpectedly the graffiti is made to be hundreds of small gingerbread cookies that have been affixed in a mosaic fashion. Shifting between the meaning of language, symbolic representation, and contradictory materials the work creates a “warping of time, place and intention creates a subtle, paradoxical crisscrossing of what could be and what is.”
